Study of Environmental Arctic Change Human Wellbeing Co-Production Team

Our Role: Co-production team member

About the Project:

SEARCH brings together diverse experts to co-produce and share new understanding of the drivers and consequences of Arctic environmental change.

The Human Well Being Team synthesizes understanding of the changing Arctic environment in terms of “human security.” This team considers what communities need to protect and maintain food security and sovereignty, cultural heritage, community resilience, human health, and well being from local to global scales.

Outputs:

Our team has created three specific outputs, and contributed to many more across other SEARCH teams. They include a chapter in NOAA’s annual Climate Change Report Card, a one pager explaining how subsistence activities are woven into the Shishmaref school curriculum, and a peer-reviewed publication detailing our challenges and highlights of the co-production process
